ANALISIS WASTE PADA PROSES PEMANTAUAN POSISI LOKASI OPERATOR TERHADAP MESIN DI PT.XYZ

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the cable manufacturing companies in Indonesia, PT. XYZ has a production process in
making a cable. The production process consists of drawing, stranding, insulating, cabling, inner sheating, outer
sheating and packing, these processes require operators to carry out all these processes. PT.XYZ has 3 groups in
the production process where each group has 78 to 79 operators, each group is led by a supervisor. The
supervisor before production starts provides the production schedule and operator location on the machine
through the whatsapp group application to the operators, after the supervisor shares the operator's location on
the machine the supervisor is in charge of manually checking the operator's location on the machine by going
down to the production area. Supervisors need a lot of time when checking the location of the operator on the
machine because the checking process is still done manually. In the process of checking the operator's location
on the machine, we analyze the process using a lean manufacturing and 5 why’s approach to analyze the waste
that occurs in the process. The author conducts an analysis using value stream mapping and process activity
mappin to determine the actual time that occurs in each process of checking the operator's location on the
machine and the time after repair. The author makes a scanner application and operator location monitoring on
an android-based machine to eliminate waste that occurs in the process of checking the operator's location on
the machine and the process becomes more efficient.
