Abstract

PT Natra Mining is a mining company that focuses on processing metallic minerals, including gold. The processing of metallic minerals is crucial to ensure the sustainability of the mining business, involving advanced technical and technological stages to convert raw minerals into commercial final products. One of the important machines in this process is the Cone Crusher (CR02), which functions to crush rocks into smaller sizes. This machine faces the problem of high downtime due to various factors, such as damage to the liner, spring feeder, and difficulty in crushing materials mixed with mud. This research aims to analyze the causes of downtime and offer a more effective maintenance strategy using the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) method which helps identify problems, including the use of composite rubber springs which are more durable than steel springs. The analysis results show that replacing parts with composite rubber can reduce downtime and maintenance costs. This research is expected to increase operational efficiency and support the achievement of PT Natra Mining's production targets.
