Section A2 is a team from the Engineering Department assigned to
Section building and Section Venting Plant A. In Section A2, band
service problems are problems that have the highest downtime and ATB
I3 machines are machines that have the highest downtime due to band
service problems. The high downtime band service is caused by a
problem with the lock band service system, namely the motion locking
system on the band service component. Therefore, a modification was
made by changing the design of the lock band service. Modifications
made require components such as ACM B50 S60 pneumatic cylinders,
10 mm plates, linear guideways, and proximity sensors. The pneumatic
cylinder is used as a locking system tool that will push the lock plate, a
10 mm iron plate is used as a component holder and a lock band service
modification tool, a linear guideway is used as a support for pneumatic
cylinder motion in locking, and a proximity sensor is used as a lock
motion detection device. band service and will send a signal to the PLC
for the next process in the service band. After the modification is
complete, downtime is calculated as well as MTTR and MTTF
calculations to determine the availability value. Based on the
calculations made by the author, after the modification there was a
decrease in downtime of 52.97% and an increase in availability of
1.64% compared to before the modification.
