ANALISIS WASTE PADA PROSES PELELHAN PELAPISAN KABEL HIGH VOLTAGE DENGAN BITUMEN MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN LEAN MANUFCTURING DI PT FHI

Cable has a very high priority on the safety part. The importance of cable safety can be seen in the insulation section. There are several types of cables that need to be coated with bitumin liquid because the cables contain lead. The types that needed to insulate by bitumen liquid is HIgh Voltage (HV) cables. However, in the process takes a long time because the solid bitumen material needs to be cut first, so it can fit with the drum for the melting process. And for 40 kilograms solid bitumen, it will be melted by soaking it with 40 liters gasoline in 2 x 24 hours. The aim of this research is to analyze the production process waste on melting bitumen section to minimalize productiton time and make work process more efficient. The result is, there are four waste that happen on melting bitumen section, there are waiting, unappropriate process, unnecesarry motion and transportation. After the improvement impelemented it can reduce operasional cost 82.43% and reduce lead time 81.15%.
