PENINGKATAN PRODUKTIVITAS PROSES ASSEMBLY DUCT DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN LINE BALANCING DI PT SAYA

The need for vehicles makes companies that engaged in the automotive components manufacture required to innovate so that it can meet consumer demand. PT SAYA is a company engaged in the automotive component industry and one of the products is duct, which is a component that will be assembled with headliner. To maintain consumer confidence, PT SAYA always makes continuous improvements that target high productivity so that consumer demands can be met. The objective of this research is to improve the productivity and efficiency in assembly duct line in PT SAYA. The observation showed that current productivity was about 9,52 pcs/M.H, efficiency line was about 89,09%, balance delay was about 7,27%, idle time was about 18 seconds, and smoothness index is about 17,03. Productivity improvement can be reached by balancing cycle times at each work station with the line balancing method. After improvement, the productivity value becomes 11,38%, efficiency line increases to 96,38%, balance delay decreases to 3,64%, idle time reduces to 4 seconds, and smoothness index decreases to 4,00.
